Inkwell: A New Play Festival

Inkwell is a new play festival from Cedar Falls Community Theatre that shines the spotlight on the talent of Midwest playwrights. The festival accepts submissions of full-length or one act plays from playwrights currently living in and around Iowa.

The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards (including Best Musical) is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs.

Youngsters are divided into age groups and spend each day exploring drama, dance and music. At the end of the week they’ll present a public performance on the Oster Regent stage. Instructors: Greg Holt (Drama); Mandy Masmar (Dance); Ryan Occeña (Music).

Movie Camp  for 12-17 Year Olds 

July 28-August 1, 9:00AM-2:00PM

Area film-makers will work with students on how to effectively act (and audition) for film; how to write screenplays; how to use dramatic lighting and camera angles; and how to cleverly edit their project. We’ll film a movie with the entire class and, by the end of the week, each student should be well on their way to creating their own cinematic composition.
